Open Weekend 3rd – 5th February 2012

Finally, after 2 years of fundraising by members of our congregation, and with the support of the local community, we reached our target figure of £230,000 to build a new annexe at the rear of our church. Our opening weekend at the beginning of February started with a disco on the Friday night for our young people, which was followed by an open day on the Saturday to which the local community were invited to come and have a look and enjoy Christ Church hospitality.

Despite the heavy snow overnight, the Church was packed for the Service of Dedication on the Sunday morning, at which the Bishop of Lichfield, Rt. Rev. Jonathan Gledhill officiated, assisted by Rev. Preb. Pippa Thorneycroft, Interim Minister. A celebratory lunch,enjoyed by all, brought the weekend to a close.

A big “thankyou” to all involved in this project – truly a team effort.
